Guard Your Life!

I've been feeling sort of uninspired recently but I stumbled upon this pic and the verse below from Leah Richardson's blog  and just loved it

Proverbs 13:3 "Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens his lips comes to ruin"

How true is that scripture?  Leah shares lots of spiritual insight on her blog but she's also a really good designer....You should check out her house that she's redone...I wish I could move in.

Hop on over and check her out!

Stencil's a peek at the finished stencil in the kitchen......It's different than what I'm used to but I'm liking it and so is the hubby...which is great!

I'll try to get a proper pic so you can see the whole wall and then I 'll tell you how we did it.

Oh and there's that art I told you I was going to DIY.  I like but bright colours but that's not quite the look I was going for (*Smile) but definitely some lessons learnt.

Please send Chocolate

I'm having a serious chocolate craving that has absolutely nothing to do with Valentines Day next week....I had a piece of chocolate cake on Friday when hubby and I went out to dinner but it was a needless to say that did not satisfy my craving....

What are you craving these days....

Stencil Stencil on the Wall....

I'm still working on the art that I told you about a couple days ago so I've moved right on to Plan B: a wall stencil.  I got clearance from the hubby and I got started on a design I liked.  I was impatient and couldn't find a free template online so I created one in MS Word and cut out the template.  I started tracing it out on the wall but couldn't keep it straight so I called hubby and he came to my always *smile*.  So we're buying the paint today and I will start painting the stencil......*fingers crossed*........

Artsy fartsy

Ok..I'm not sure where my post title came from but for some reason, that's what came to mind.  Having said that, I've been wishing for some large-ish artwork for my kitchen.  As I may have mentioned before we don't have any upper cabinets because we ran out of money I really like the open, airy feel without upper cabinets......really, I do.   So I've been wanting some colourful artwork for either side of the kitchen window.  As I may also have mentioned, things are fairly tight financially which means that I've not been able to purchase art that has actually caught my fancy......In addition, one of my goals for 2012 is to do less wishing and more doing.  So in that spirit I'm going to paint my own artwork...I bought the canvas today and I can't wait to start ....  I'll show pictures when it's done.

In the meantime, here's my inspiration.....

Have a good day !!

WORD for the Year...

Layla over at The Lettered Cottage is hosting a Word of the Year link up party which got me thinking about my Word for 2012.... For the last 2 or so weeks I've been thinking back on 2011 and I feel like one of my biggest lessons for last year was to TRUST God....I can be fearful of so many things and forget to just trust God... And today I've find myself with a new fear....I find my self being fearful of the future and actually dreading it!  Where did that come from?  I've always looked forward to what the future holds but not these days....  The older I get the more I realise that though life definitely has its GOOD times, challenges are inevitable ('cause the good times wouldn't be good time without bad times, right??). So I've found myself fearful of the challenges that certainly lie ahead and wonder if I'll they'll make me or break me...

So....I am constantly reminding myself to TRUST God and not give in to fear. .....

Bow Blouse

I have a thing for pussy bow them.  So pretty and feminine and flattering too!  The bow draws attention up to your pretty face and away from a less-than-perfect mid-section....what's not to love?  I have a couple but I think I'm going to keep it on my shopping list ...

I have 2 yards of turquoise jersey and I've been trying to figure out what to do with it....Maybe I'll try my hand at a simplified version of the lovely turquoise one above....
